The deposit guarantee Directive will guarantee depositors their savings - up to a fixed maximum - in the event of insolvency of a credit institution. The principle of this Directive will strengthen the trust of the depositors in the banking system.
Fondi tegevuse eesmärk on hoiustajate poolt krediidiasutustesse paigutatud hoiuste tagamine krediidiasutuse maksejõuetuse korral nende hoiuste hüvitamisega käesolevas seaduses sätestatud tingimustel ja ulatuses.
