Drooge (v.a marju) ei tohi kuivatada otseses päikesevalguses, vaid selleks ette nähtud ruumis. Eeterlikku õli sisaldavaid drooge on soovitatav kuivatada temperatuuril 30– 40 °C ning 10–15 cm paksuse kihina, tugevatoimelisi aineid sisaldavaid drooge (alkaloidid, glükosiidid) temperatuuril 50 °C ning teisi drooge temperatuuril 40– 60 °C.
