  • What are the Processes? In the effort to establish a new political infrastructure in Afghanistan through the convening of a Loya Jirga, three groups have emerged as represented by the Cyprus, Bonn, and Rome Processes. The participants in these efforts represent the political, military, and scholarly leaders of Afghanistan and those with the combined skills to help bring stability to their nation. Although these three groups are currently working separately, their goal is the same: to restore peace and power to the Afghan people by the convening of a Loya Jirga in Afghanistan.
