Eesti ühinemises Euroopa Liiduga tuleb näha osa ajaloolisest protsessist, millega Kesk- ja Ida-Euroopa maad saavad üle meie maailmajao kahte jagunemisest, mis on kestnud rohkem kui 40 aastat, ning liituvad rahu, stabiilsuse ja heaolu piirkonnaga, mille on loonud liit.
