The present imbalance is to be exacerbated even further and probably to reach an unsustainable level, in the course of the years to come as a result of increasing imports from third countries due to the implementation of the EBA Agreement.
Nevertheless, we said that, before we felt able to take a view on this, we required clarification about the impact of the Everything But Arms (EBA) Agreement providing preferential access for produce (including sugar) from the least developed countries (LDCs).
