  • helirõhutase - helirõhu p ja standardse helirõhu nullväärtuse (=20mikroPa) suhte kahekümnekordne kümnendlogaritm 20 log(p/po; o lugeda alapaigutusega). Ühik: detsibell (dB), tähis Lp (p lugeda alapaigutusega).
  • Sageduskorrigeeritud helirõhutase (helitase, müratase): mõõdetud helirõhutase, kus kasutatakse müramõõdiku sagedusfiltreid. Enam levinud on A-koorigeeritud ja C-korrigeeritud helirõhutasemed, tähistused vastavalt Lp,A Lp,C (p,A ja p,C lugeda alapaigutusega).
  • Sageduskarakteristik - müra ja vibratsiooni mõõtmistel spektri erinevate sageduste võimsustegurite muutmise teel saadud kõver, kasutatakse erinevatel eesmärkidel nii müra kui vibratsiooni uuringutel.
  • A-sageduskarakteristik (A-korrigeeritud helirõhutase): helisagedusliku spektriosa standardiseeritud sageduskorrektsioon, vastab inimkõrva tundlikkusele suhteliselt madalate helirõhutasemete juures. Tekstis tähistatakse dB(A).
  • weighted noise - a noise having a power spectrum which is modified by a specified frequency selective network
  • (Similarly for B, C, and D weightings).
  • sound pressure level - effective sound pressure, or root-mean-square values of the pressure fluctuations above and below atmospheric pressure caused by the passage of a sound wave, expressed in decibels
  • sound pressure level - value equal to 20 times the logarithm of the ratio of the pressure of the sound to the reference pressure
  • equivalent sound level - it is the weighted sound-pressure-squared values averaged over an interval of time, and this average is then converted to a level in decibels. The averaging process is based on the "equal energy principle".
  • weighted sound pressure level - the logarithm of the ratio of a given sound pressure, obtained with a standardised exponential time weighting and with a standardised frequency weighting, to the reference sound pressure of 20 microPascal. Weighted sound level in decibels is twenty times the logarithm to the base ten of that ratio.

Usage examples
  • Juhendeis peab olema toodud masina poolt tekitatav müratase, kas konkreetse masina või masinatüübi kohta mõõdetuna järgnevalt: A-filtriga korrigeeritud ekvivalentne helirõhu tase tööpaigas ...
equivalent continuous A-weighted sound pressure level
Usage examples
  • 1. A-, B-, and C-weighting filters ... corresponding approximately to the inverse of the 40-, 70-, and 100-phon curves respectively have been built into most sound level meters. The sound readings obtained using these filters are known as the A-weighted, B-weighted, or C-weighted sound levels.
  • 2. For several years, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has encouraged the use of the equivalent sound level: a descriptor that uses the average A-weighted energy and differs significantly from 50th percentile, or median, sound pressure level. Unlike the 50th percentile sound level which is not influenced by peak noise levels of short duration, the equivalent sound level is. Therefore, the A-weighted equivalent sound level combines level, frequency and temporal character into a single-valued descriptor. Equivalent sound level, symbolized as Leq, is always higher than the L50, as it is influenced by noise contributions of high level and short duration such as aircraft flyovers or noisy truck passbys.
  • 3. The instructions must give the following information concerning airborne noise emissions by the machinery, either the actual value or a value established on the basis of measurements made on identical machinery: - equivalent continuous A-weighted sound pressure level at workstations where this exceeds 70 DB(A) ...
