1. Recent regrafting (last five years)
- between orange trees
- between lemon trees
- between small-fruit trees
- between species.
2. Member States should be able to take account of local conditions and therefore be able to impose stricter rules in respect of new planting, replanting and grafting-on, where necessary.
Age of trees must be calculated from the time of their planting in the orchard. The planting season extending from the autumn to the spring shall be considered as a single period. When there has been double grafting, the time when this was carried out shall be the determining factor.
