Under the Common Agricultural Policy of E.E.C., the lowest price at which an imported farm commodity, esp. cereals, may be sold within the community. The C.A.P. authorities fix threshold prices from time to time and keep them at or near the target price by charging an import levy equal to the difference between the landed cost of a commodity and its threshold price.
