hysteresis

property of measuring equipment, or a metrological characteristic, whereby the indication of the equipment or value of the metrological characteristic depents on the orientation of the preceding stimulus
time-based dependence of a system's output on present and past inputs
property of a flowmeter whereby its response to a given stimulus depends on the sequence of the preceding stimuli
property of a measuring instrument whereby its response to a given stimulus depends on the sequence of preceding stimuli

hysteresis

Näited

Hysteresis can be a dynamic lag between an input and an output that disappears if the input is varied more slowly.
Hysteresis can also depend, for example, on the distance travelled after the orientation of stimuli has changed.
