For the aviation industry, biojet fuels are a means to reduce their carbon emissions. The industry is committed to using sustainable biomass for alternative aviation fuels.
Biofuels for jet aircraft are known in the industry as “biojet” or “bio-jet” fuels. They are the only real option to achieve significant reductions in aviation emissions by 2050. Bio-jet fuels can be derived from sustainable sources such as vegetable oils and animal fats, and existing jet engines do not require modifications for their use.
