Notes

Üldkeeles on sõnad postiindeks, indeks ja sihtnumber sünonüümid. Erialakeeles on vene tõlkelaenule postiindeks (vrd почтовый индекс) eelistatud sõna sihtnumber (number, mis viib sihile).

Keelekorralduses lähtutakse põhimõttest, et üldkeele sõnade tähendusi ei normita. Vt ka 2021. a uurimust ja EKI teatmiku artiklit „Tähenduste normimisest“.
